Zest Executive Safety Leadership

This is a bespoke  Executive Leadership Workshop for members of executive management either with the accent on alignment and strategy setting or with the accent on creating a high-level action planning on how to create a safety culture, depending whether a previous safety management evaluation has been performed.

The Executive Leadership Workshop is designed as an interactive learning experience. The workshop will help participants develop a better understanding of the conditions and methods required to implement a strong, effective and ongoing safety management effort throughout your company.

Zest Risk Management 101

We live in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) World where risk exposure is part of everyday life. In this workshop we explore the fundamentals of Risk Management with a focus on Human and Organisational Factors – ‘The Who, The What, The The How and The Where.’ The Individual (who), The Task (what), The Systems (how) and the Environment (where). Zest Process Safety Leadership

The basic strategy for safety excellence is to accord safety equal weight with other business priorities. Effective safety management processes are principle-based, continuous, and flexible. In our experience the commitment, leadership, and drive of senior management personnel significantly determine the health and wellbeing of organisations.

This course details the fundamentals of Process Safety and Integrity Management Leadership and describes the essential features that involves the application of systems and controls within High Hazard processes in a way that hazards are identified, understood, and controlled so that process-related injuries and incidents are prevented.

It is directed towards preventing serious, operational process-related incidents that might affect plant personnel, off-site communities, or the environment, or result in significant loss of property or business.

The fundamentals are applicable across all Sectors – bespoke workshops are tailored to meet the Purpose, Vision, Culture and Integrated Business Management System of the client organisation.

Too many human beings postpone living.  We say that we will live our best lives when we have more time or when we finish the pressing projects that are consuming us.  We tell those around us that we will be more loving and passionate when things slow down.  We promise ourselves that we will get into world-class physical condition and eat healthier food when we have a little bit more time.  Yet, deep within us, each one of us knows that there will never be a better time to live our biggest life than now.  And if not today, then when?

Zest Creative Problem Solving

Creative problem solving isn’t just brainstorming, although that’s what many people may associate it with. It’s actually a well-defined process that can help you from problem definition to implementing solutions.

Creative ideas do not suddenly appear in people’s minds for no apparent reason. Rather, they are the result of trying to solve a specific problem or to achieve a particular goal. Albert Einstein’s theories of relativity were not sudden inspirations. Rather they were the result of a huge amount of mental problem solving trying to close a discrepancy between the laws of physics and the laws of electromagnetism as they were understood at the time.

This approach has been formalized as Creative Problem Solving (CPS). CPS is a simple process that involves breaking down a problem to understand it, generating ideas to solve the problem and evaluating those ideas to find the most effective solutions. Highly creative people tend to follow this process in their heads, without thinking about it. Less naturally creative people simply have to learn to use this very simple process.
